The rise of mass-produced cheap textiles and decorative items has devalued handmade crafts.

Macedonian ethno tradition of weaving woolen rugs and clothes is a rich and ancient craft,
deeply embedded in the country's cultural heritage.

These woolen products are functional and culturally significant, used in everyday life and special occasions.
The vibrant colors, achieved through natural dyes, and the durability of the wool make these rugs and garments prized possessions. Festivals and cultural events in Macedonia frequently showcase these traditional crafts,
preserving and celebrating the skill and artistry involved.

Archaeological and ethnological collections are full of unique pieces made with refined taste and attention to detail, making handmade crafts a part of the region's heritage. Macedonian women have always been the backbone of textile creativity, which is why this project is so popular among our women & girls.
